Modules
At Application Lynx we deal solely in HR and the related modules; this is our speciality and where our expertise lies. For projects that encompass other modules we partner with one of our partner consultancies who specialise in those modules, e.g. Finance, Manufacturing.
Core HR
Core HR is the most important part of the product as it is the foundation of all the other modules.
We focus on HR to ensure the setup is correct because in our experience we have found far too many existing clients have Core HR setup issues that have caused limitations in HR and the other modules. With our experience of so many different client setups and our Oracle Development background, we have learnt much over the years about the best ways to implement Core HR. This together with our extensive knowledge of HR business processes, have helped many HR units find the harmony between system and process to improve their effectiveness.
Payroll
Oracle Payroll is a linked Payroll system to HR and other modules. There are many benefits to keeping HR and Payroll on one system especially if you are using Advanced Benefits and Compensation Workbench or wish to provide online payslips.
Our consultants have successfully implemented some of the most complex payroll systems, from the first 11i Payroll in the UK to County Council payrolls and we are proud to have some of the best Oracle Payroll consultants in the UK. We also have experience of US and European payrolls for global implementations and have experience of interfacing to many of the most common external payroll systems.
Employee and Manager Self Service
Self Service is a powerful module which enables the Employees and Managers direct access to their HR data, putting the information into the hands of the people that know it best. Workflow Approvals and AME are used to route approvals and notifications to approvers to ensure information is updated correctly.
Self Service implementations have been one of our most successful areas because we focus on the change management of the implementation as well as the actual system. This is essential in the role out as it is not cost efficient to train all staff and the product is not quite training free for some employees. Therefore we have introduced many methods to counter this issue including phased roll outs and the use of eLearning products to create content that can be accessed from Help links.
Performance Management
Performance Management is Oracle’s method of appraising employees; it has been an evolving product that has changed extensively over the past few years. Linking together Competency Management, iRecruitment, Learning Management and now incorporating Cascading Objectives, we find it to be an impressive product which solidifies many of the HR processes to become an important part of your HR strategy.
Application Lynx have been involved in a number of Performance Management implementations and have found various ways to implement different clients’ performance processes into the product, which can be very effective when linked to the other modules.
Learning Management (OLM)
Learning Management is Oracle’s solution to training administration and delivery. It has emerged from the merger of Training Administration (OTA) and iLearning and in our view, the two products have been incorporated very well.
Having previously implemented many OTA systems prior to OLM being introduced, and a number of OLM implementations since. We find our Self Service change management approaches essential for a successful role out of OLM to ease the culture changes. We have found OLM to be a very useful system when linked to Appraisals.
iRecruitment
iRecruitment is an internet based recruitment solution to enable managers to create vacancies via an approval process to be published on the intranet, internet, job posting boards and with agencies, allowing applicants to apply online either directly or allowing agencies to apply and manage applicants on their behalf. The latest additions to the iRec functionality have brought the product a long way allowing for assessment questionnaires, application forms and a huge improvement to the changes you are allowed to make to the look and feel of the user interface.
Having previously been involved in many recruitment solutions using Standard Oracle Recruitment interfacing to web front ends, we are proud to have successfully implemented the first external iRecruitment system using the Agency functionality globally. We have extensive knowledge in recruitment business process and have helped improve the recruit to hire and quality of new employees for many clients.
Advanced Benefits (OAB)
OAB is Oracle’s solution to administer employee benefits and compensation, with annual enrolment, life events and self service administration it automates most of the processes for benefits administration teams.
We have been involved in the majority of the UK’s OAB implementations and have the largest OAB knowledge base in the UK. We perform many OAB pre-sales demonstrations on behalf of Oracle. We also supply benefits administration staff or training for administration teams.
Compensation Workbench (CWB)
CWB is Oracle’s solution to administering salary reviews, bonuses and any other mass salary administration. It allows managers direct control via self service to administer pay and bonus changes with an approval system to send the changes for approval.
We have been involved in a few CWB implementations and have found it to be one of the best modules to persuade managers to use Self Service as it makes their salary administration process much easier for them.
Discoverer Reporting
Discoverer is our choice of reporting tool as it is in line with the direction of Oracle, although we do have expertise in other reporting products such as Business Objects.
Our Discover architects combine Discoverer expertise with a long standing HCM knowledge which enables them to not only create reports that run efficiently and quickly but set up the architecture to enable Super Users to create adhoc reports without the need for technical knowledge. This is essential in the changing world of HR.
HR Daily Business Intelligence (HR DBI) (HRI)
HR DBI has come a long way in the past couple of years and now is an impressive product which enables Managers and HR professionals to manage all their HR processes by providing access to comprehensive data and KPIs from your HCM system in graphical formats and the ability to drill down to the detail. Now with over 300 reports and very simple to implement, it is a key module to get the most out of the Oracle product.
Our consultants have in depth experience for DBI having come from Oracle Development and can implement DBI very quickly. We have developed a County Council specific version of HR DBI.
